It is extremely important that you change your tires often to ensure safety. If you are racing often, you should be changing your tires every time you race. Replacing run down tires will increase your chances of riding faster, smoother and, of course, safer.

MX South offers TR1 Front and Rear Dual Purpose Tires. These tube type tires are a great selection that satisfy every need. The sticky rubber is good for road or dirt trails, and they wear well. Good quality tires at a good price.

Dirt bikes can be very fun to ride, but they are also dangerous machines that can hurt you if used incorrectly. Dirt bikes are often referred to as off-highway motorcycles and are always classified with “hard-core” sports like BMX bike riding. Accidents happen all the time with vehicles like dirt bikes which is why we want to make sure you understand some basic safety rules.

Getting On and Off

Make sure you hold onto the handlebars when getting on and off your bike. Press down on the brake so the wheels are locked into place. It will keep the bike from falling over and landing on your legs. Never jump onto the bike.

Controls

Make sure you know what all the controls do before you begin to ride. Know how to turn the engine on and off and understand how your brakes work. Familiarize yourself with the bike’s controls, especially the engine stop switch.

Check Your Parts

Check your tires and wheels before you ride. Make sure everything is going to run smoothly. You never want to start riding with a possible flat tire. Your chains should be lubricated and all the nuts and bolts should be screwed in tightly. If you see a crack anywhere on your bike, do not ride it until it is fixed.

Terrain Check

Before you take your bike out for a ride, know what your trail is like. Are there potholes you need to avoid? Are there hills you might not be prepared for? Just know where you are going and what is ahead.

Get the Right Gear

Make sure you are wearing protective gear such as a helmet, padding and gloves. You can never be over dressed for riding.

Happy riding!

Your heart pumps pretty fast when you’re surrounded by so much energy, huh?

If becoming a motorcross racer is something you have always dreamed of, let 2013 be your year. Surrounding yourself with the people, the gear and the energy will help you familiarize yourself with the motorcross sport.

Ask experienced racers questions. Go buy yourself the best gear to protect yourself and help rid you of fear. Research your local area to find out what racing organization you can join to learn to ride, and stay active as a rider. Know the industry before you actually get on your bike.

If you have the desire and passion to become a motorcross, nothing is stopping you. The resources are there to help you make your dreams come true.

Choosing the right helmet can make a difference in the protection you receive during an accident and comfort during your ride. Before shopping for your next helmet at MXSouth.com be sure to keep the following factors in mind:

Certifications: Make sure the helmet meets safety standards by looking for DOT or Snell safety ratings. Snell ratings are considered more stringent than DOT ratings so helmets baring a Snell sticker often provide better protection and have been through more thorough testing.

Helmet Type: There are three types of off road helmets: full face, open face, and motocross. A full face helmet will cover your whole face and head; while the open face helmet covers just the top portion of your head, leaving your face and chin exposed. The preferred choice of most riders is the motocross helmet. This type of helmet covers most of your face and has a strong piece to protect your jaw. When paired with goggles to protect the eyes, motocross helmets offer strong protection as well as ventilation not offered by full face helmets.

Fit: Making sure your helmet fits right is another important aspect of buying a helmet. Helmets that don’t fit correctly hinder comfort, visibility and protection. Be sure to measure your head and pay close attention to the manufacturers sizing information. Check out MX South’s sizing charts for more info on helmet fit to ensure you pick the right helmet for your head.

MX South offers a full range of all types of dirt bike helmets with many different safety ratings. Check out MX South’s huge selection of quality dirt bike helmets.

The cheek pads are engineered to wrap under your jawline, providing a secured feel. The entire liner system is designed to maintain a perfectly balanced fit.

Comfort liner provides a balanced, custom feel

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT: XS-S, M, L, XL-XXL PERFECT FIT is the essential ingredient in helmet performance. Unlike most helmets, the V4 is manufactured using unique shell and EPS dimensions scaled to fit every size. The result is the most comfortable and precise fitting helmet on the planet.

4 Shell & EPS Sizes for a precise fit (XS-S, M, L, XL-XXL)

Dual Density EPS Liner: Anatomically correct, impact absorbing foam reacts positively to impact & widens the energy dispersal area (Firmer outside / Softer inner)

THE MOST TECHNICALLY ADVANCED MATERIALS are used in the construction of the V4 helmet. The carbon-fiber shell and dual-layer EPS liner form a cutting edge, three-stage, impact-absorbing system engineered to provide total coverage. Meticulous thought and attention to detail went into the fit and finish of the V4, making it the helmet by which all others are judged.

Astonishing high tensile strength of carbon-fiber is a distinct advantage

HIGH-TECH DRY-LEX™ FABRIC wicks moisture and provides the feel of luxury.

DRY LEX™ comfort liner wicks moisture & provides a comfortable feel

Cheek pads feature a cupped lower edge design to mold to the riders face

VENTILATION IS ESSENTIAL. Starting with four massive intake vents on the brow of the helmet, the V4 is designed to maximize airflow to your head and goggle ports. Overheating is not an option, and he V4’s airflow system ensures that you stay cool and on the throttle.

16 Intake & 8 Exhaust Ports are designed to circulate serious airflow throughout the helmet

4 large brow/goggle intake ports pull air in & over the face

ALL FOX PRODUCTS ARE DRIVEN BY DESIGN AND ENGINEERING. One challenge in designing the V4 was to create a helmet that exceeded the needs of the world`s most demanding sport. We explored every possibility to ensure that the V4 is the most advanced helmet today and tomorrow
